So, it’s March and I have been on school break for a while. Sounds exciting… not really. Because its break all of my friends have gone back to their hometowns until school starts back up. So, I’m kinda just hanging out in my room … all … day… long. Though it has let me catch up on my reading, and by reading I mean my cookbook. Hopefully things will liven up again soon.
Ok, so today I went to a live cafe and watched one of my students perform. Its funny when I say student because he is in his 70’s and in a band. How cool is that. They play a lot of old american songs like Elvis, Janice Joplin, beatles etc… It was really cool. The people that run the cafe were really awesome too. It had good music, good people, and good atmosphere. If you ask me you can’t get much better. They are having another live performance next week on the 16th… I’m thinking I will go again. The place is called “Live Cafe: Jammin’” good place if you are ever in the area. HA HA
Its a little early for some people, but its now the new year here in Japan. Another year has passed and I am still in Japan. I hope everyone had a wonderful christmas and I hope you have a wonderful new year as well.
Be sure to keep warm !
Is a great movie and I highly recommend it to everyone. Probably the must see movie before it goes out of the theatre. Not much to really say except you should go see it lol. Its kinda cool to get to see what goes on back stage and of course the music and dancing is awesome. So, go see it.
Going to see the Michael Jackson movie today. I hope its as good as everyone is saying … but at least the music will be good lol.
I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving. Eat extra of everything for me because I don’t get one. Ill be eating popcorn at the movie theatre, but oh well, what ya gonna do.
Happy Thanksgiving and talk to you again soon
I know I have millions of fans that were waiting to hear more about my adventures that I go on regularly. Though I’m not sure which one is more of a lie. That i have millions of fans or that I go on adventures. HAHA. I’m having a sick day today and only went to my first class so I was sitting here with nothing to don and got the idea to actually put up a new post. I woke up this morning at about 1am with the flu… YAY! -_-. Sick day for me …
As you are all aware I extended my stay in Japan for one more year, so I will not be coming back to America until August of 2010. I hope to be more attentive to my blog, but you all know im very lazy too . I am also going to focus more on my Japanese blog with is on the side bar —> that way.
Also, I will be trying to buy a new camera this month and hopefully I can get some new pictures up since it has been over half a year since I posted pictures. Trust me, I miss my camera a lot. I will me much more careful with this one. Though I was careful with the last one just not sure what happened to it.
Might be going on vacation at the beginning on December to go to the country and watch the fall leaves and there is a 100% chance that I will be going to an onsen. This will be lost of fun WOOT. I just said WOOT on my blog … do any of you even know what that means … anyway.
Stay tuned for more updates and *COUGH COUGH COUGH* (I’m dying) look out for my other blog as well.
Love you all, my avid readers.
So, I had to get up early on Saturday, so I could get in as much sleep as possible I stayed at a friends house that is just one station from the school. That nite, we decided that we wanted to eat okonomiyaki. There was this place close to his house that he had never been to … so we went there. This place was awesome. The people were lively and really friendly and the customers were also talking to me and just having a good time with me and my friend. Well, they started talking about their blog and how they wanted to take a picture so they could post. It, of course, was only supposed to be me and my friend in the picture, but the guy behind us thought it would be funny to jump in too … and it was funny. We were just having a good time with great people. So, I thought I would make a post telling people about this wonderful place. we are only in 2 of the pictures and there is some japanese written at the bottom that tells you that he ia a borrower and.
So, I finally have internet in my new apartment that the university made me move into. The new place is no where near as good as the old house I lived in. This place is smaller and my utilities are included. On a good note, I have internet YAY. Its been really hard not having internet. I haven’t been up to much lately. School has started and I am just going back to my routine, and not much has changed. Though, I did start my internship at a local elementary school here. I have to go teach at an elementary school every friday and 1 saturday a month. Yes, in Japan people go to school on Saturday. They actually tried to get me to take Saturday classes… that was a big no. The kids at the elementary school are awesome and the people that work there are really really nice. Things are definitely different here than they are in America, but it will be an awesome learning experience for me.
Anyway, I have been talking to a friend here in Japan that is basically a programmer and so there might be some changes coming to the website soon. I would like to get things to be a little more professional. I have a lot of ideas not only for changing the site, but for things that I would like to do to show everyone. I first need to work, now that I have regular access to the internet again, on getting my website out to other people. I think YouTube is #1 when it comes to things like that. I hope that new changes will be good and come soon.
Japan is definitely different than America. Business marketing is different, food is different, work ethics are different, class etiquette is different, etc…, and being foreign doesn’t exclude you from any of these. Why should they? You live in their country now. Oh, and one more thing that is really important and is different… in Japan it is not against the law to refuse service or not hire anyone for any reason what so ever. You are even required to attach a picture to your application. Can they not hire you because you aren’t pretty enough? Yup. Is it against the law to hang up a sign on your place of business that says “No foreigners”… nope. Guess what… welcome to reality. Continue reading “How is the view?”
Ok, so its 4am and I went to go outside to take out my trash and everything is covered in snow. It looks so amazing outside I think I’m going to put the proper clothes on and go for a midnight stroll. Unfortunately, I have misplaced my camera and cannot take pictures … which makes me a sad panda. I haven’t updated in while so I thought this would be the perfect opportunity! I hope everyone is doing great … ok, I’m going to go play in the snow … ciao.
